Senior DataBase Engineer - Oracle

Overview of contract
On behalf of our client, one of the leading financial institutions in Zurich, we are looking for a System Engineer to support the delivery teams and take ownership of the database area and of data related activities,
This is a six-months contract with potential extension.
Main responsibilities
- Be responsible for defining, documenting and maintaining the logical as well as the physical data model
- Analyze DB productions issues as well as performance bottlenecks
- Drive standardization and innovation topics forward together with the architecture community targeted at evolving our DB setup/infrastructure
- Ensure consistency on how data is used and stored
- Execute and support the production deployments
- Assist the delivery teams with the creation of DB designs and artifacts (incl. tables, views, scripts, stored procedures, etc.)
- Support and consult the delivery teams when needed (especially in relation to performance-related optimizations)
Your skills:
- Experience in data architecture
- Excellent knowledge of Databases (Oracle is a strong plus), SQL and PL/SQL
- Very good understanding of complex data schemas and of data modelling
- Very good understanding of performance tuning and optimization of database systems (Oracle is a strong plus)
- Good Datamodelling skills
- Bachelor or Master in Information Technology or Engineering
- Fluency in English
