R&D Engineer (Data Science, Computer Vision, Machine/Deep Learning) (m/f/d)

Main tasks:
- Development of integrated system solutions for the detection and classification of flying objects on the basis of electro- optical sensors (image processing)
- Application of known tools and languages from the field of Data Science, Computer Vision and Machine/Deep Learning (Matlab, C++)
- Support of different hardware platforms (CPU, GPU, Embedded) for training and deployment of application specific decision systems
- Handling large amounts of data (acquisition, storage, annotation, etc.)
- Technical management of complex, only roughly defined development tasks, where the solution path is to be found both independently, but also in cooperation with other departments
- Creation of system and interface specifications, independent development and implementation of software solutions
- Carrying out comprehensive simulations, studies and investigations
Main qualifications
- University degree as engineer in the field of information and electrical engineering with specialization in Data Science, Computer
- Vision and Machine/Deep Learning, preferably also with doctorate and/or first professional experience
- Successfully completed projects in the areas of segmentation, object detection and object classification with the help of of single images and image sequences
- Familiar with application-relevant tools such as Matlab (Image Processing, Statistical & Machine Learning, Deep
- Learning Toolbox), C/C++ (OpenCV), Python (Tensorflow, Keras, Caffe) and version control tools (Mercurial, Git)
- Very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
- High degree of independence and at the same time ability to work in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams
