Key Responsibilities- A dynamic and collaborative working environment as an L2 IT Support Analyst within our team in Operations IT.
- A role providing second level (L2) technical production support in the Back Office division that hosts multiple business processing applications, both in-house and vendor developed software platforms. These business applications process trades and their life cycle, settlements, payment and client confirmations for various OTC Interest Rate Derivatives, Options, Credit and Equity de-rivatives.
- A highly responsible position which takes on the daily monitoring of user queries, investigation of issues and providing timely response to internal CS business users, proactively seeking to minimize potential application support problems through root cause analysis and monitoring
- A high-touch, technical deep-dive and hands-on support position requiring the investigation and debugging of logs and where required, source code to find bugs and issues to be fixed by de-velopment teams.
- Provide out-of-hours support including weekend/holiday technical support on rotation and during system incident or events.
- An opportunity to work with technologies such as Kafka, Springboot, SPLUNK, IBM MQ, Con-trol-M, and AppDynamics.
We are in the process of decommissioning and replacing an existing application. While we are still supporting this application, the Contractor will need to take on the required knowledge from the team and learn the current processes.
At the same time, we are onboarding the support of multiple new applications on distributed platforms so this knowledge needs to be acquired from other teams.
We work closely and interact with a wide variety of other teams from IT, business and management so having communication skills are important.
Essentials Skills and Qualifications:- A university degree in Computer Science or Information Technology OR Apprenticeship/Experience/Training in in Computer language, DB & OS Systems if no equivalent degree.
- 1 to 3 years combined IT experience in application support will be an added added advantage.
- Financial industry or equivalent experience will be an added advantage.
- Competency in writing SQL queries (Oracle, Sybase or DB2), Unix commands and debugging procedures/functions with recent hands-on experience.
- Software development (C++, Java, .Net, Perl, Python or any other programming language) experience is advantageous. This can be from a professional capacity as well as from an educational capacity for candidates with less work experience (projects, work experience, courses etc.)
- Familiarity with ITIL framework, Kafka, Springboot, SPLUNK, IBM MQ, Control-M, and AppDy-namics is an advantage.
- Excellent debugging, problem solving and analytical skills in supporting software applications.
- Fast learner, team player and positive work attitude and possess good oral and written communication skills. Take ownership and accountability.
- The ability to work well under pressure and having the flexibility/willingness to resolve issues requiring overtime and weekend work.
Key Technical experience expected:
- Candidate having 1 to 3 years of technical hands-on in technology through work experience or through trainings will be most suitable.
- Excellent debugging, problem solving and analytical skills in supporting software applications recently in their experience.
- Proficient in writing SQL queries, Unix commands and debugging procedures/functions with recent hands-on experience is essential.
Key Technical knowledge expected:
These can be from a professional capacity as well as from an educational capacity for candidates with less work experience (projects, work experience, courses etc.)
- Software Language (programming experience in one or more): C++, Java, .Net, Perl, Python or any other current programming language. This can be from a professional capacity as well as from an educational capacity for candidates with less work experience (projects, work experience, courses etc.)
- Database (experience in one or more): Oracle, Sybase or DB2 and any other popular programming SQL DB platforms. This can be from a professional capacity as well as from an educational capacity for candidates with less work experience (projects, work experience, courses etc.)
- Operating System experience: Unix or Linux. Recent experience with basic commands full exposure and experience in writing Shell, Perl, SED, AWK, Python or any other similar Scripting languages in Unix/Linux/Solaris platform.
- Familiarity with the following technologies is advantageous: Kafka, Springboot, SPLUNK, IBM MQ, Control-M, AppDynamics.
- Willingness to learn new technologies, business knowledge and functions.
- Experience with: XML, Control-M, Moogsoft.
- Knowledge of ITIL framework.
- Fast learner, team player and positive work attitude. Take ownership and accountability.
- Ability to work well under pressure. Flexibility/willingness to resolve issues requiring overtime and weekend work.
