for a Senior Web / UX Engineer & Architect (f/m)

Project environment

You will develop mobile and web based client architectures for complex IT solutions at a Swiss Reinsurance Company. You support the internal and external IT Teams in building challenging mobile and web based business applications. You act as a technology evangelist who is able to establish new technologies as a technical standard.

Tasks

• Help create the architecture of the client’s products, driving the creation of an intuitive, user-friendly, scalable platform that surprises and delights.
• Ownership of the client’s UI library and its design and evolution.
• Design and implement reusable web components on top of the UI library.
• Collaborate with the Design UI Team, the backend engineering team, and product management to design and implement new features and enhancements for the next-gen customer web application.
• Guide internal and external development teams.
• Create architectural blueprints for web application architectures.
• Present technical topics to various stakeholders (from CxO level to developers and technical experts) and actively contribute to the internal technical communities.

Requirements

• Higher education degree (at least B.Sc.) in Computer Science (or equivalent).
• 7+ years' experience developing front end web applications.
• Advanced JavaScript coding skills.
• Experience with HTML5 and CSS3, LESS, Sass.
• Familiarity with the DOM API and AJAX.
• Experience with client-side MV* frameworks (mandatory AngularJs, others is a plus).
• Experience with Bootstrap and responsive design.
• Experience with jQuery.
• Familiar with tooling like Grunt, Bower, Gulp, NPM, Git.
• Experience with browser debugging and profiling tools.
• Knowledge of UI/UX concepts and best practices.
• Good knowledge in working with REST and OData APIs.
• Understanding or experience of mobile development on iOS, Windows Phone / 8.1 or Android, Xamarin is a plus.
