Application Supporter - 2nd Level Support & Unix Know How (3177)

This challenging Position will give you the chance to work in a multicultural team & liaise with 3rd Level Support/Development teams and associated Unix, Windows and others.

Your qualificaton:

  • Bachelor Degree or completed apprenticeship in IT/Computer Science
  • Demonstrated experience in Unix/Linux, Windows/Solaris
  • Experience in Application Support
  • Deep technical skills needed and ability to learn new skills/technologies
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and work efficiently
  • Flexibility to provide on-call service
  • A high level of service orientation and willingness to work independently but in a team
  • Strong analytical skills and/or Scripting skills are a plus
  • Fluent English skills are required, German is an asset

The job:

  • Accountability to perform daily operational tasks to ensure continuous running of the systems
  • Investigation and resolution of incoming issues (incidents, service requests according to ITIL-based Incident Management process)
  • Active ownership of open incidents - ensure resolution or workaround and escalation to Problem Management as appropriate
  • Documentation and maintenance of application support procedures
  • Consultancy for application development/software packaging
  • Global support team
