If no Scala experience the client will consider a Solid Java developer.

Scala

JVM
Serialization/marshalling
Web (JavaScript and frameworks, HTML, CSS, AJAX/Websockets)
Maven or SBT
Collaborative and autonomous (need to work on part of the team and be responsible of piece delivery)
Self-organize (Not wait for work to be assigned)
Part of innovation process and motivated
