For our client, a multinational pharma Group, we are currently seeking for an

 

Application Manager.

 

 

Project Base: Basel (CH)

Start: Beginning of August 2015

Duration: 6+ months (up to 12 months or more)

 

 

The role is described by the Client as followed:

Each Application Manager is performing Service Management activities for several applications in the area of Finance, Procurement and HR. Technology of the applications are mixed (e.g. MS Sharepoint, MS SQL server, .Net, BizTalk, Oracle, Java, ASP,…). The Application Manager facilitates work between business and IT groups to “translate” requirements and enable operations of value added IT solutions in the area of Finance, Procurement and HR. They need to understand the business environment of the business area being supported. They troubleshoot and maintain service quality for applications to support the business. They monitor the Application Maintenance done by the external outsourcing partner. They facilitate discussions to help business anticipate future needs and opportunities and identify problems and prospects by performing independent research and assessing best practices. Furthermore, they understand and communicate where technology can help.

 

The responsibilities include:

• Service Management & Application Ownership : Responsible for smooth running of applications is scope incl. projects

• Integration with other IT organizations/sub teams

• Pro-active measurements to ensure smooth operations and ongoing improvements

• Ensure proper maintenance of the application inventory

• Monitor the application maintenance performed by external Ootsourcing Partner and work with strategic external partners to ensure desired service levels are achieved

• Ensure proper & timely escalation on issues/ risks

• Work with the customer to raise new project proposals and mandates including application rationalization as well as Support during definition of the business case.

• Conduct assessments of processes and existing data to further detail requirements

• In collaboration with others lead to investigate and define solutions that deliver business value

• Provide strong contribution to the business leads as they prepare for implementation of new systems and introduce or drive change in an organization

• Work closely with compliance team to ensure the system is meeting internal and external compliance requirements

 

We are looking for a strong service minded personality with th following skills:

• Education: University education, such as a degree in Information Technology, Engineering and/ or relevant business education or related experience.

• At least 3 years of experience in the area of Application Management / Service Management

• Functional expertise in one or more of the following areas: Finance, Procurement and/ or HR

• Service Management skills

• Strong problem-solving and business analysis skills

• Good influencing and negotiation skills

• Strong customer relationship management experience

• Capable of working in an international environment with virtual teams

• Good understanding and knowledge of business processes in a global health care industry and assets

• Implementation of new processes or methodologies

• Good written, verbal communication and presentation skills

• Languages: English (German is a nice to have)

• Swiss background could also be an advantage
