Project environment
A Swiss Insurance Company is looking for a Microsoft Middleware Engineer who acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the SharePoint, IIS and .NET products and proactively engages in product research to customers within the client. He/she supports the existing SharePoint Engineering team in their daily work and takes over the responsibility in IIS service design and transition to deliver a constantly improving, cost efficient and highly available platform. He/she will also be responsible for solving incidents and problems, which could not handle by the operations team and drive forward automation and standardization to improve supportability of the different platforms.
Tasks
• Engages in research in all topics pertinent to the SharePoint, IIS and .NET stack.
• Take over responsibility in the service design for IIS and .NET.
• Push service transition of IIS and .NET to operations.
• Take over responsibility for infrastructure topics in projects and POCs.
• Defines and drives automation and self-service initiatives.
• Ensures quality documentation is in place (architecture, processes etc.).
• Strives for efficiency and cost improvements.
• Acts as technical role model and mentor for SharePoint, IIS and .NET Operations.
• Trains, consults and directs team members.
• Monitors and improves quality of service request fulfillment.
• Works together with SharePoint Engineers to ensure stability, availability and performance.
• Contributes to the ADNext project, which integrates ADS services with the cloud.
Requirements
• Expert knowledge of the SharePoint and IIS technology stack from an end to end perspective.
• Excellent knowledge of concepts, engineering, implementation, usage and operations.
• 6+ years SharePoint and IIS working experience.
• Strong troubleshooting skills (Kerberos, ULS viewer, Fiddler, NetMon etc.).
• Understanding of cloud concepts with focus on Microsoft Azure and SharePoint online.
• Strong Active Directory Services knowledge with focus on Claims and OAuth.
• Process design and documentation with BPM.
• Strong PowerShell scripting knowledge (automation, logging, exception handling, etc.).
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Client platform.
• Good understanding of wider infrastructure components such as network and storage.
• Service Management skills of service design and service transition (at least ITIL Foundation certified).
• Project Management skills, preferably for IT Infrastructure projects (IPMA level D or CAMP).
• Methodical and systematic approach towards gathering requirements, designing solutions, documentation and communication.
• Reinsurance experience would be an advantage.
