We are currently looking on behalf of one of our clients in Vaud canton for a:
Linux systems engineer
This a short term contract of 3 months based near Lausanne.
Your role:
Realize specific projects on new systems in close collaboration with Project Managers or Senior Engineers ensuring that they meet the global enterprise architecture.
Implement new systems and assume operational duties
Ensure follow-up with providers and partners
Produce dashboards
Participate in follow-up meetings with Project Managers and stakeholders
Provide documentation on systems using ITIL standards. Communicate and train IT teams on these systems.
Handle 2nd and 3rd level support (incidents, requests) with end-users according to SLA
Monitor systems via monitoring tools. Anticipate issues and provide solutions.
Perform structured technology watch with proper documented reporting to improve the global service level and added-value for the business
Identify needs: IT needs such as regular health check, monitoring improvement, security improvement, upgrade to new versions or new technologies, etc. as well as needs from end-users outside IT
Your skills:
Linux services good knowledge: Kickstart deployment, Configuration management CFEngine (sudo rights, SSH, Samba, ), FTP, DNSMask, SMTP GW (Exim), ZFS file system, LVM file system, NFS, Samba, Apache and Zabbix monitoring
DB knowledge (light admin tasks like backup/restore): Postgres SQL and MySQL, MariaDB
OpenStack knowledge: KVM hypervisor, Nova network and CEPH storage
Misc (internal training will be done), Source code management tools (GIT, SVN, Perforce) and PR/CR tracking tools (JIRA, Confluence, )
