Python Engineer
On behalf of our client, a leading global IT consulting company, we are looking for Python Engineer for a contract role based in Bern.

Service/Project Description:
We need strong a Python Engineer to hit the ground running in an ongoing development project in the area of cloud resource management (ie Servers, storage, networking). This role requires the ability to work independently when necessary and code according to sound design and best-practices, as often the technical design detail will be left to the candidate. Work location is flexible, ie one week onsite in Bern, Switzerland, and one week offsite.
Requirements:
- Linux, Git, Agile development
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong Python software engineering skills (2+ years) with experience in building Server Side applications in Python
- Relational DB experience (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Good familiarity with cloud management concepts
- Experience with queue-based messaging systems (RabbitMQ, AMQP, ActiveMQ)
- Experience with building and consuming REST APIs in Python
- Ability to bring strong design and best-practice skills to the project
- Experience with a Python unit test framework, such as pytest, nose, or similar
- Experience with Openstack
- Experience with cloud technologies in general (Amazon S3, libcloud, jclouds, ApacheCloud, Deltacloud, etc.)
- Experience with Ruby
- Solid working knowledge of core networking concepts - experience with VLANs/VXLANs/NSX a big plus
- English language skills are essential, German is a plus
