Tasks

For this role as an DB2 LUW Data & Database Architect & Engineer with long-term experience in the DB2 & partially AIX Area we are looking for the following skillsets; Small Team with 7 – DB2 Sys Admins / Engineers & 4 - DBAs. The team is responsible for all DB2 related service delivery, engineering und DB2 architecture tasks. For Sys Admin they deliver a 7x24H On Call and/or weekend Support Data Architect skillset.

Requirements

• Database Optimization, Backup & Restore strategies, Indexes, XML optimization.
• Performance Tuning – Strategies for improved performance across the whole Performance Stack.
• Disaster Recovery and High Availability - Techniques such as Linux Clustering, Tivoli Storage Automation, HADR SAN Replication, Global Mirroring.
• Extending functionality, sometimes integrating with legacy systems.
• Warehouse experience (Banking).
• Experience with new Storage technologies like 'Flash storage', Storage tiring.
• Experience with Column based Databases like Terradata, Neteeza..
• Programming (Perl, shell).
• Integration with External Applications.
• Capacity Planning.
• Dataflow analysis for performance improvement to reduce physical IO in a complex environment

Soft skills

• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
