On behalf of our client, a leading financial institution in Zürich, we are looking for a z/OS Mainframe Expert with solild Cobol programming skills, with proven experience in performance analysis. Are you a passionate Mainframe Expert who is looking for a new and exciting challenge? If yes, then please have a look at the details below:
Main responsibilities:
- Make suggestions for performance tuning measures in the area of Cobol with DB2/SQL and MQ Series in CICS transactions and TWS jobs
- Tracking system and application performance (CPU capacity, storage, memory, ABENDs, run time)
- Ensure delivery of application code and system configuration in high quality
- Supporting internal customers with tuning trends, forecasts and problem solving
- Be the main contact for the application developers in the Mainframe area
The skills and experience needed for these positions are:
- Professional working experience in the Mainframe area
- Excellent knowledges an experience in z/OS
- Proven Cobol programming skills
- Experience with performance analysis and reporting (MS Excel/Pivot skills)
- Solid DB2 and SQL skills are a nice to have
- Knowhow regarding performance measurement and tuning in any related areas (I/O, MQ, WebSphere, Java in CICS, system software etc.) are an advantage
- Tool knowhow in the area of BMC Mainview, Apptune, Tritune/APC (former MATUN), DB2 Performance Reporter are an advantage
- Excellent communication skills to both business and IT stakeholders in English, German is a plus
