For our Client from the banking sector we are looking for a
z/OS Application Performance Specialist
Duration: 6 months
Location: Zurich
Team:
The z/OS Performance Team proactively tracks system and application performance (CPU capacity, storage, memory, ABENDs, run time). Analysis in test environments ensures delivery of application code and system configuration in high quality. Reporting over production environments provides trend views and input for capacity planning. We support various customers within the Bank's IT with tuning trends, forecasts and problem solving.
Your role:
As a z/OS Application Performance Specialist you will be the main contact for the application developers in the Mainframe area. You will make suggestions for performance tuning measures in the area of Cobol with DB2/SQL and MQ Series in CICS transactions and TWS jobs. Java in CICS, WebSphere and WebServices are the newer technologies in the Bank, but occasionally are in focus as well.
You help applications to delivery highly efficient code and help them to solve performance issues.
Skills:
. Good Knowledge of z/OS Mainframes
. Senior Cobol programming skills
. Solid DB2 (V10) and SQL skills
. Experience with performance analysis and reporting (MS Excel/Pivot skills)
. Ability and willingness to work in a complex, diverse and global environment
. English and German language (spoken and written)
. Tool knowhow in the area of BMC Mainview, Apptune, Tritune/APC (former MATUN), DB2 Performance Reporter are an advantage
. Knowhow regarding performance measurement and tuning in any related areas (I/O, MQ, WebSphere, Java in CICS, system software etc.) are an advantage
