On behalf of our client, a well renowned Financial Institute, we are looking for a Big Data Web Developer within a support function. For this 12 month contract position based in Zürich, our client is looking for an English speaking candidate.

Overview:
- Our client's data management team based in Ticino is seeking a well-qualified individual for analysis, troubleshooting and support for their big data platform.
- This individual will deal with complex, interrelated applications and systems being designed for their big data platforms and will work with rapidly evolving technologies and internal stakeholders to analyze and define unique and innovative solutions for achieving strategic business goals.
Your tasks:
- Hands on with big data technologies to provide support during SIT, UAT and production L3.
- Design complex solutions, develop, and implement the application as an individual contributor.
- Effectively respond to technical queries/requests from team members and customers.
- Proactively respond and resolve support requests.
- Work with the partner teams to ensure big data platform (Cloudera) is configured appropriated.
- Analyze the business requirements and convert them into detailed design.
- Communicate regularly with business and IT leadership team
- Opportunity to work with big data technologies with complex use cases.
The skills and experience needed for this position are:
- 10+ years of experience with Java based enterprise scale applications with 3+ years of troubleshooting and support experience for big data platforms.
- Must have 3+ Years of experience with Scala, Spark hands-on experience with one or more major Hadoop distributions and various ecosystem components (eg HDFS, Sqoop, Impala, Spark, Flume, Kafka,
- Experience in developing web services technologies (RESTful is mandatory and SOAP a plus)
- Proactive support and troubleshooting of the platform is a must have.
- Able to document and clearly explain low level technical solutions to technical teams.
