For our client in Zurich, Harvey Nash is looking for a competent:
Software Engineer (Packaging and deployment)
Are you passionate about bringing systems to life? Do you have the drive to innovate?
We're looking for someone like that to help with:
- Provisioning of application infrastructure (Servers, databases, storage etc.)
- Creation of application packages for different components using OLU packaging
- Creation and maintenance of application deployment scripts (Webapp as well as database)
- Deployment of application in DEV and TEST environment
- Creation of deployment order and coordination of deployment in TE2 and PROD with GPS team
- Planning and performing infrastructure upgrades (Servers, Oracle database, Middleware)
- Load balancer and BCM/DR setup and testing
- Creating database baseline for releases (export/import) and setup Oracle PKI
- Setup application and infrastructure monitoring
Your team
You'll be working in the Integration team in Zurich. The team's role is to manage the deployments and application infrastructure in all the environments. The team help to create application packages, deploying them, managing multiple releases simultaneously for multiple applications. They are also responsible for application infrastructure end to end (from provisioning till decommissioning)
Experience and skills
- excellent Shell Scripting skills and knowhow of Solaris/Linux OS
- hands-on experience in OLU packaging
- knowledge of DevOps tools like Jenkins/TeamCity including Maven and SVN
- experience in Oracle RDBM and SQL
- strong analytical, problem-solving and synthesizing skills (you know how to figure stuff out)
- experience in the bank's internal tools like ELVIS, SNOW, Confluence
You are:
- an SME in UNIX packaging and Shell Scripting
- interested in automating the manual processes and tasks
- looking to work in challenging environment with different set of tools and processes
- able to multi-task and meet the deadlines constantly
- comfortable working independently, as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- fluent in English
