Our client, one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies based in Basel, is looking for a Senior Statistical/SAS Programmer who has extensive SAS Macro development experience such as additional system experience with UNIX Scripting/Perl/entimICE/Python etc.
This is a contracting role based in Basel and planned to start ASAP until the end of the year with extension opportunities.

Tasks:
- Provide statistical software and software development and documentation support to all groups within the Biometrics Department
- Develop and maintain analysis system tools and requirements with the user community
- Liaise with data managers, statisticians and statistical programmers working on early and/or development stage projects and participate in the life cycle activities for generic tools (across project programs)
- Give advice and provide training on SAS and other software usage and support users in problem solving and business need analysis
- Provide input to process development and ensure compliance with group processes and overall company standards
Ideal Profile:
- University education or equivalent with major emphasis on numerate discipline or equivalent IT diploma
- At least 5 years of working experience as a Statistical/SAS Programmer
- Solid advanced macro development experience
- 7-10 years of experience analysing clinical trials data in the pharmaceutical industry
- Expert knowledge of SAS with strong UNIX skills and PC experience
- Additional system experience such as UNIX Scripting/Perl /entimICE/Python
- Fluency in English (ideally native speaker)
- Ability to work in a global team
- Fast learner (ie Able to adapt quickly to a complex and dynamic technical environment)
- Great team-player
- International travel 2-4 times per year
