Your Skills
- Technical foundation in Linux/UNIX, Windows, DB, SQL, network security devices, Web, LDAP)
- Ability to drive and negotiate security results amid
- Understanding of common security functions (eg vulnerability management, incident management, secure-configuration management, pen-testing)
- Ability to analyse and articulate security in terms of threats, threat actors, attack-vectors, control-objectives, (preventive and detective) controls and risk
- Understanding of common attacks (eg XSS, SQL Injection, CSRF, Phishing)
- Understanding of common technical security controls (eg 2FA, encryption, certificates, TLS, Perfect Forward Secrecy, data-analytics for incident detection)
- Web-application architecture (including Java web-applications)
- REST-based Web-Services architecture
Your Tasks
- Identify control-gaps
- Design controls to meet control objectives
- Ensure control-designs are implementable given technical landscape, resource limitations and project timelines
- Creatively design secondary controls if primary controls are infeasible
- Provide security best-practice guidance to project teams
- Ensure appropriate prioritization of security within projects
- Provide weekly security status updates for projects
- Articulate and rate business risk related to missing controls
- Determine tasks and task-ownership to implement controls
- Provide the drive needed to ensure controls are implemented successfully
