For a 6 month project at our client's site, an international bank based in Zurich, we are looking for an experienced

Application Supporter - Unix/Linux & Shell Scripting (4158)

Your Qualifications:

  • Banking, Finance and/or Risk knowledge is required
  • 5+ years' practical experience with Unix/Linux and Shell Scripting
  • 5+ years' experience in an IT Support role (ideally in front or Middle Office in Investment Banking)
  • Experience with SQL (ideally Oracle/Sybase)
  • Skilled in Incident-/Problem-, Release- and Change Management (from a production perspective)
  • ITIL V3 certificate would be a strong plus
  • Knowledge of multiple technologies is an advantage: Excel, VBA, C#/ASP.NET, Java, C++
  • Batch/Control-M experience is a plus

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Credit Risk Environment
  • IT Support for the reported issues and resolve them in a timely manner
  • Involvement in development tasks
  • Monitoring of scheduled batch jobs, as well as the identification of process improvements (eg automation of the manual monitoring process)
  • Responsibility for the OLA's and SLA's between IT to IT and IT to business
  • Proactive communication of batch job delays to users and senior management
  • Escalation of critical and high priority issues to the senior management
  • Full root cause analysis and a detailed investigation of issues in the agreed time
  • Ownership for the IT/incident tickets open in the area of responsibility
  • Solid collaboration with the application development teams and the other relevant interfaces
