Our client, a highly-regarded top tier bank, is looking for a software engineer with strong Cobol skills to work in the Credit Backend team in Zürich. The team maintains the core financing application on the bank's Mainframe system. You will be supporting the Software Component Manager (SCM) for resolving defects and deploying fixes. Before handing code over to the SCM, you will make sure it is secure and operational.
For this Cobol software developer contract job in Zurich, expert Cobol programming knowledge on Mainframe environments is required. Fluent English and German are also required. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, be able to improve older code bases, and apply new development approaches to new projects.
