Edelway is a Swiss IT business services company with more than 200 consultants active in the Swiss market.
We actively looking for a Desktop Infrastructure Technicianr to join our global client in Geneva, Switzerland.
The candidate should be available to start - January 2017, this role is a long term contract.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with other desktop administrators to deliver the managed desktop service
* Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end-users
* Liaise with the infrastructure teams when required
* Assist in the support of other workspace devices and appliances (Printers, Tablets, Audio/video conferencing equipment, etc.)
* Perform Workstation and VDI deployment
* Assist in software packaging and testing
* Assist with software license management
* Provide support for Workstation deployment and software deployment infrastructure as needed
* Participate in desktop related projects and other activities as required
* Document processes and procedures (SOPs)
* Maintain an inventory of some of the above workspace devices
Experience and Skills:
* A minimum of five (5) years of progressive, responsible experience supporting computer systems and/or applications
* Sound knowledge and expertise in the characteristics of computers, peripheral devices, communications systems and hardware capabilities
* Experience with Microsoft SCCM and Microsoft Intune is desirable
* Thorough understanding of DNS, Internet, TCP/IP, routing concepts, proactive capacity planning and performance monitoring
* Excellent technical knowledge of PC and desktop hardware
* Excellent technical knowledge of PC internal components
* Hands-on hardware, Windows and MS Office troubleshooting experience
* Experience with IT Service Management processes and ITIL Foundation
