Solution Architect - Bern
My client, a global technology company, is urgently seeking a solution architect for a project at their end-customer, a company within the financial industry in Bern. The scope of the project is to execute a Proof of Concept to integrate a digital solution into an existing core banking platform.
The ideal candidate will be able to communicate flawlessly in English (German is not a core requirement, but would be an added bonus) and be able to start immediately. Tasks to be completed within the project:
- Responsible for system architectures and solutions. Main deliverables include the system Solution Architecture and Architecture Decision Document
- Provide assessment of feasible solution options, analyses functional and non-functional requirements
- Provide technical leadership and guidance across the life cycle of a project to drive delivery of high-quality solutions, ensures that the solution fits the existing application landscape
- Defines and conducts reviews of relevant artifacts including code
- Assists other solution engineers in the implementation of the business logic requirements in JavaEE
- Lead the technical review and evaluation of the offerings
- Act as a liaison with other architect functions (security architects, data architects, technology architects, enterprise architects)
- Identifying opportunities to reuse enterprise and shared technology services
- Influence a wide range of stakeholders across multiple LOBs & obtain consensus on the correct technical solution
- Partnering with multiple delivery teams operating in Agile and traditional waterfall fashion to ensure solutions built are aligned to the long-term targets
- Candidates will be expected to immediately contribute and lead the architecture for critical Payments-related transformation programmes.
Which technical skills do you need to master?
- UML (domain model, activity- and state diagram, sequence diagrams, use cases)
- Designing, and implementing multi-tier application platforms
- You have an in-depth understanding of Java/JavaEE (EJB3, JPA2, JMS) and Web-Services (REST/JSON) technologie
What skill set do you bring along?
- You are specialized in Application Architecture (preferred) or Information Architecture, Integration Architecture
- Experience in development, roll-out and maintenance of complex applications
- Analytical with good inter-personal skills.
- Tenacious, Self-starter, Driven Shows initiative.
- Decisive and pragmatic problem solver.
- Assertive, Well-developed communication skills. Able to engage with both technical and non-technical staff at all levels in the organization, to understand and respond to their needs in rapidly changing environments.
- You work well in a team and have a good sense of humour
Experience/Education
- You have at least a degree in Information Technology
- 2 years in a comparable role is required
- Experience in the payments industry is strongly preferred
- Experience with Service Orientated and Event Driven Architecture
- Experience architecting high availability systems, services and solutions
- Experience with using and certification of TOGAF
- Two year experience with mobile payments technologies
- Experience working in large (1M+) transformation programs
- Deep knowledge and Experience of API driven architectures
- Specialized skills in API management, High Availability services
