Our client, a leading global insurance company, is searching for a service architect and software engineer to focus on infrastructure automation. The long term vision our client has is to implement "Infrastructure as Code" and enable DevOps principles. You will get actively involved in current initiatives, develop and drive new concepts, evaluate possible (open source) tools for Automation Integration and/or support other departments in the evaluation process. You will integrate existing automation capabilities from infrastructure platforms and will be an architecture evangelist on the topic of Automation and Orchestration. You will promote and advertise your concept and ideas to the IT System Engineers and IT Business Domain Developers.
For this contract position, holistic and abstract thinking is key. Be able to think analytically and promote technical concepts and document those concepts. Strong coding skills required for Infrastructure Automation are essential. Must know at least one language very well, (open)API definitions, understand XML, YAML, JSON. Development and coding experience should show an embrace of open source technologies. The ideal candidate will have some database and Datamodelling skills (relational and NoSQL, GraphDBs, linked data). Solid experience with and understanding of Service Architecture and how to integrate any kind of REST service. Strong DevOps skills, preach and follow the Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) principle.
