Unix/Hadoop Administrator wanted for our Zurich based client in the banking sector.
Your experience/skills:
- Expertise in Hadoop Administration (installation, configuration, supporting and managing Hadoop Clusters) and Big Data Technologies
- Good knowledge of UNIX Scripting, as well as UNIX Admin skills, know how in developing applications in Java/Scala/Python/or other Scripting languages is a big plus
- Background in setting up any Big Data analytical tools (Palantir/Anaconda Python/scikit-learn/SQLite/PySpark) advantageous
- Working experience in installing and configuring Hadoop Framework ecosystem services such as HDFS, YARN, Pig, Hive or Impala, Hbase, sqoop, zookeeper, Oozie, flume, Hue
- Languages: fluent English both written and spoken
Your tasks:
- Defining processes for access rights for specific systems, as well as improving monitoring of systems and hardware in order to minimize future incidents
- Managing escalation issues within the team and wider department, along with preventing re-occurring incidents
- Communicating with infrastructure teams where required (across Compute, Storage, Database and Web platforms), together with cooperating with Change Management and Quality Assurance functions on production release cycle
- Creating and maintaining documentation on the environment processes, in conjunction with managing the code release of components from development through UAT to production
- Working on process automation to improve the efficiency of both environment management and release management process
