Our client is a global Pharmaceuticals super power that is adding to its virtualization team in Basel:
The Citrix and virtual desktop Administrator is responsible for the administration of global production, test, and development Citrix and VDI environments. The role involves day-to-day operational activities including tier-3 support, health checking, troubleshooting, configuration maintenance, performance tuning, VDI image creation, and from time to time installation, configuration, migration and upgrade activities. As well as day to day tasks the role would include evaluating the technology stack and how it can serve our scientific and remote workers more effectively.
Major Accountabilities/Key Performance Indicators
*Supports informatics in maintaining a highly available Citrix XenDesktop environment
*Supports Informatics in resolving environmental issues reported by Citrix users (tier-3 support)
*Works closely with the NX-Client technologies team to integrate operating system images into VDIs
*Works to ensure that the Citrix environment is patched according to Citrix recommendations
*Works to ensure that the Citrix environment is monitored to ensure business continuity
*Aligns closely with colleagues in order to deliver the best possible Citrix service to the business
*The Citrix Administrator will report directly to the SharePoint and Shared Services team manager
Ideal Background/Capabilities
*At least 5 years' experience in administering enterprise scale Citrix environments
oCitrix XenApp 6.5, XenDesktop 5.6 and XenDesktop 7.9 environments
*Excellent knowledge of the physical and logical architectures associated with enterprise level Citrix installations
*At least 8 years in network architecture
*At least 7 years in system design
*Manage and troubleshoot virtual machine issues on VMWare ESXi 5.5
*Manage and troubleshoot machines on PVS 7.9
*Excellent PowerShell Scripting skills
*Should have good understanding of XenApp 6.5 and XenDesktop 7.6 architecture
*Should be able to support VDI issues built on Windows 7 and Windows 10
*Ability to develop and promote new ideas and solutions within the technology stack
*Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global teams
*Demonstrated productivity in complex organizations
*Excellent communication skills
