Test Engineer (Technical Application Leader)
I am currently hiring a French speaking Test Engineer (Technical Application Leader) for a client of mine in Geneva. The successful Test Engineer (Technical Application Leader) will enjoy a very long term opportunity with an initial contract offer of 1 to 2 years with options to extend thereafter based on performance.
Job Description:
- Technical Leader who manages all activities concerning a specific change/project on a specific application, between people in the area of maintenance, end users or its representatives, software developers, suppliers;
- Extensively test the application including test case drafting
- Support User Acceptance Testing
- Draft requirements based on the user stories provided by the end users
- Act as an interface between Business and external development team
- Define data interfaces with other impacted applications (enterprise bus)
- Implement configuration data changes
- Investigate technical incidents and ensure Level 3 maintenance support in cooperation with the maintenance and engineering staff, and escalate as necessary to third-parties
- Contribute and coordinate with the change management unit and its planning in the scope of programs, projects, minor evolutions and troubleshooting.
The right Test Engineer (technical Application Leader) will have the following skills:
- University degree in Software or Engineering
- Ability to quickly understand business needs and to take initiatives and decisions
- Sound experience in testing (execution and test management) and requirement engineering
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Experience in the use of an application life cycle management tool (eg POLARION)
- Knowledge of Agile, SOA and Virtualization is a valuable asset
- Team spirit with strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
- Stress resistant
- At least 6 years on the job experience
- Overall 10 to 12 years of IT experience
