Java Developer/3rd Level Support
Location: Bellinzona
Duration: 12 months
Start: ASAP
Our bank client is looking for a senior JAVA developer/3rd level support with strong core Java, Oracle Coherence and database (Sybase) skills. Server Side programming with an emphasis on low latency systems is preferable.
Must Haves:
- Experience with UNIX (Linux/AIX/Solaris)
- A core Java developer with 7+ years experience
- Minimum of 5 years of DB experience (Sybase preferred)
This position requires:
- Experience with common Java frameworks eg Spring
- Knowledge and understanding of current best practices in Java development
- Demonstrable experience of good OO design and programming
- Experience with all phases of the systems development life cycle
- Excellent organizational, problem solving, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Mentoring experience, especially with developers in different locations
- Understanding of standard change control policies and procedures and ideally experience working in an IT environment with change control procedures
- Experience in C++ would be advantageous
- Experience with Financial products - specifically FX and OTC derivatives products - would be advantageous
Preferred qualifications/experience:
- Awareness of test-driven development and design
- Experience of working in a continuous integration environment (TeamCity)
- Experience with low-latency, Server Side Java development
- Experience with Oracle Coherence
- Experience with JMS
- Experience with Sybase ASE (15)
- Experience with JMX
- Business knowledge of Credit Risk
- Experience with source control (preferably Subversion)
