Title: Technical Writer for IT/Development
Location: Zurich
Duration: 12 Months

The Geo product area is starting to expand its support for internal developer documentation. If you're an experienced developer writer, know how engineers think and what they need to know to do their job, and like bringing order out of chaos, this job is for you!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Learn complex technical information and write technical documentation-including architectural overview, programming guides, and tutorials-for internal engineers.
- Produce clear and succinct educational materials on the web for developers who are in a big hurry to get a task done. - Manage docs written by engineering teams and drive active contributions.
- Edit documents written by others; coach engineers to improve their writing skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- BA/BS degree (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience)
- 4 years of work experience
- Experience working closely with engineers.
- Ability to document source code written in Java, Objective C, or JavaScript. Proficiency with HTML and CSS.
- Experience using UNIX environments, Scripting languages, developer tools, and version control systems.
- Some experience with statistical analysis and database queries is helpful background for this position.
- Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Can create well-organized docs that help impatient engineers get up to speed quickly.
- Proven track record of researching and writing effective documentation for developers, including architectural overviews and programming guides.
- Demonstrated ability to grasp complex technical concepts and communicate them to a technical audience.
