For our Life Science client in Basel, we are seeking a Logistics Expert

Start Date: 1st October 2016

End Date: 31st July 2017

Location: Basel

Language: English & German

Responsible for managing and balancing the relationship between customer, vendor and Logistics Expert for all supply related matters. Serving as customer's advocate in all areas related to demand & supply planning and order management (order entry/maintenance) with a strong focus on customer service level.

For the assigned country portfolio fulfil the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Serve as customer's advocate ensuring good customer relations and a high customer service level.
  • Facilitate communication to customer and vendor in alignment with NPhS, Credit Management and Pricing Department
  • Be first point of escalation for customer, vendor and NPhS on exceptional issues and special business cases
  • Assess delivery date of open orders per month; make sure the forecasted figure is being met under consideration of the procurement and credit

situation for each customer order (Sales Assessment). Sales Forecasting is done in close Co-operation with NPhS management, NPhS Regional

offices, customers and Credit Management. The sales achievement must be based on fulfillment of the Incoterm.

  • Maintain adequate planning and master data parameters alignment among customer/vendor and PhSC systems for active assortment in close collaboration with local master data management
  • Drive Demand availability and accuracy (assortment cleanup, monitoring and challenging of Cognos demand figures, etc).
  • Continuously develop knowledge of supply chain business cases
  • Perform order management (creation, validation) in all business areas
  • Ensure timely order entry in SAP (within 2 days after receipt of order from customer)
  • Monitor correct systems transactions, related to order validation/confirmation/PO/Outbound creation
  • Update SAP order changes initiated and managed by vendor or customer (GOCA) and administer GOCA requests on behalf of the customer
  • Initiate special tasks, such as returns, write-off's, rebates, credit/debit notes according to the required business case and SOPs in a timely and correct manner
  • Ensure together with Logistics Expert timely and correct invoicing & shipping including L/C documentation
  • Ensure correct creation of documents which are the basis for correct shipment realized by Logistics Expert (including preparation and presentation of L/C documents)

Languages: English - fluent written and spoken, additional language - preferred
