Python Scientific Developer
Location: Basel
Contract type temporary contract
The Scientific Developer is responsible to design, develop and implement scientific applications and systems that generate exceptional value in the healthcare industry.
Main Tasks:
- Provide documentation of design and development strategy for software projects
- Implement code by the agreed upon schedule
- Implement code with clearly defined coding practices
- Document code with procedural overview and inline documentation where necessary
- Test software
- Estimate level of effort, evaluate technology options, and offer suggestions to improve
processes in partnership with business analysts and technical architects - Provide strong technical product support by investigating issues, fixing bugs, and
responding to inquiries - Prioritize tasks effectively, work efficiently, and escalate situations when necessary
- Participate in peer code reviews, attend status meetings and provide updates of project status
- Promote a professional image internally and externally, and contribute to a positive atmosphere
- Conflict resolution for errors in software
Main Skills:
- Knowledge and experience in Python and Broad knowledge and skill in multiple programming languages.
- Database skills including understanding database performance, optimizing queries, designing data models, developing ANSI-standard or vendor-specific SQL, and programmatically generating dynamic SQL.
- Familiar with common databases such as Oracle, or MS SQL
- Familiarity with the web frameworks Django or similar like AngularJS
- Familiarity with common web technologies and practices such as, HTML5, CSS, JSON, XML, browser compatibility
- German language skills are a plus
