Skills/Application Experience
- Knowledge of ODI software tools and applications
- Knowledge on database design -- Creation of data model, Tables, Indexes, Views, Materialized views, Synonyms, Sequences for better performance of the DB.
- Possess extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of Business Intelligence methodologies and data warehousing tools
- Communicate fluently and effectively with on-shore and off shore clients
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to use it for maintaining relations with colleagues and clients
- Proficient in handling problems/issues and make prompt solutions to resolve them
Activities expected to be performed in a recurring basis
- Monitor proper execution of ETL processes and cubes generation, detect anomalies and take corrective actions to ensure data availability on time.
- Access Oracle DB to change configuration of ETL processes ruled by configuration tables following operational guide instructions.
- Configure Cognos cubes in a way that all required data is included in the cube, managing size limitations constraints
- Change/Configure Cognos packages
- Manage configuration Cognos portal & related services.
- Manage Cognos content ( copy/move reports/cubes)
- Manage Cognos security aspects. (access rights)
- Manage Report/Cube Scheduling
- Execute ad-hoc Cognos reports, exporting information into several commonly used formats (.pdf .csv etc.), and provide data to the requestor
- Reconcile data among different elements (Cognos reports/cubes/oracle tables) in order to understand the technical root cause of any eventual difference between them. (eg filters applied at some point)
