Python Developer with strong experience around Front Office and finance is immediately sought by one of our major clients. You must have a strong mathematical and statistical background, You will need excellent Python SQL Development experience for this project, you'll be responsible for developing and using tools, using primarily Python and SQL, to load and analyse large and complex sets of market data into our data infrastructure. You will also help introduce good practice techniques into an existing Python codebase (testing, continuous build, etc)
Essential
Quantitative Python tools and SQL
Extensive experience of working on the Linux command line
Experience of Python, and a sense of current good practice in Python build and deploy (eg Pypi, virtualenv)
Experience of relational Datamodelling/querying in SQL
Working knowledge of various Scripting languages including bash
Experience of systematic processing of large volumes of data (eg tick data)
A proponent of agile development methods; continuous integration, TDD, refactoring and related approaches
Experience of managing and delivering change in a controlled, high-availability environment
Advantageous
Experience of Java
Experience of financial data services, eg Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg, MarkIT, IDC
Experience of a range of open source frameworks: Spring (or other DI), log4j, JUnit, Eclipse, Maven 2
