For a project at our banking client site in Zurich, we are looking for an experiencedSoftware Developer - JEE/ Oracle & Big Data Solutions [Hadoop, Vertica, etc.] (3391)
Your qualifications:
- Good command of English language, both spoken and written; German is a plus
- Significant design/architecture/delivery experience of Java development for high volume enterprise systems
- Exposure to caching, aggregation, map-reduce technologies
- Good understanding of OO design principles
- J2EE, multi-tier architecture, Spring, Oracle
- Agile/Scrum experience preferred
- Any Vertica/Hadoop/Pivotal/Cloudera Big Data platform experience would be useful
Key delivery is the design and development of the Data Service Layer (DSL) for Risk and Finance IT, a component delivering a data abstraction/virtualization service for large volumes of data across multiple physical data sources. It is highly likely that any solution will not just be based on Java and Oracle, but will require cutting edge technology such as Hadoop, Vertica and other Big Data solutions.
Your responsibilities:
- Collaboration with the team to agree high level design and architecture of a complex application
- Detailed component level design and implementation of components using a Java, Oracle and leading edge technologies
- Senior IT Java Developer/Designer within the Data Management Department of Risk and Finance IT (focused on the Data Service application – a component to abstract and virtualize access to multiple physical data stores):
- Design and implementation of components in Java, Oracle and caching technologies
- Extension and enhancement of existing solutions
- Exposure to cutting edge Big Data solutions to deliver highly performing and scalable solutions to process terabytes of data per day
- Delivery of a solution that integrates data from multiple risk and finance stores and provides access to the integrated data
