Beschreibung

Our client, a renowned, global pharmaceutical organisation, is looking for a Packaging Artwork Manager to support them with ongoing work on site in Switzerland.

This person has ownership and governance of the packaging artwork standards for the implementation and life cycle use of branding, graphical elements and colours including responsibility for the creation and maintenance of packaging design brand guidelines and artwork file standards.

The position is to be responsible for the packaging artwork standards through operational implementation (pre-press and printing) and life cycle events (launch, change, transfer, re-design, re-branding). This person will be responsible for global pre-press supplier management and strategy and be the first point of contact/escalation for all packaging artwork design issues.

Responsibilities:
Governance and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for strategic alignment between packaging artwork stakeholders with a focus on design standards and process development and governance.
  • Responsible for packaging artwork life cycle event management. Lead, drive and co-ordinate all involved functions to ensure the smooth end-to-end functioning of the packaging artwork design processes and delivery of quality packaging artwork for all life cycle events. Collaborate with Packaging Design Managers in the packaging design process.
  • Enforce consistency and challenges local marketing/DRA requests for deviations from global standards (together with/on behalf of Global Marketing brand leads).
  • Enforce the consistent application of the internal Artwork File Specification, develop and extend the specification.
  • Responsible for strategic planning and management of global pre-press suppliers including extended workbench for artwork processes.
Quality and Compliance:
  • Expert in regulatory and commercial requirements for the design of pharma packaging artwork ensuring compliance of packaging artwork design throughout product life cycle events by the application of awareness of the current and future regulatory and commercial requirements for design and the impact of any design proposals or changes.
  • Ensure integration of all internal and external regulatory requirements, commercial requirements and best practice findings into artwork design processes and standards by challenging new requirements and supporting teams with expertise.
  • Lead projects for compliance and improvement of packaging artwork design processes and standards.
  • Management of effective change control of packaging artwork design processes and standards.

Standards and Harmonisation:
  • Own and maintain packaging artwork brand guidelines (with Product Design, Marketing, etc.).
  • Own and maintain packaging artwork technical standards.
  • Ensure all new artwork is compliant with packaging artwork technical and design standards and implement a strategy for transformation of existing packaging artworks to artwork technical and design standards.
  • Carry out brand reviews and spot checks of packaging artworks to monitor adherence to regulatory requirements and guidelines.
  • Review product assortment for standardisation/harmonisation opportunities (both technical and design) for all life cycle events.
  • Own and maintain packaging artwork design standards based on regulatory and commercial requirements, best practice and market analysis.

Documentation:
  • Create and maintain packaging design brand guidelines.
  • Create and maintain business process documentation (eg SOPs, business guidance documents, business process flows, process descriptions, etc.) and document management.
  • Be responsible to ensure all SOP and artwork documentation is regularly reviewed and updated to align with business requirements.
  • Create and maintain business process documentation for external suppliers (eg supply agreements, quality agreements, etc.) and document management.
Internal & External communication:
  • Proactively manage communication (information sharing, meetings) with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure appropriate communication and alignment with other impacted business areas (eg external suppliers, etc.).
  • Coordinate artwork development and support all involved functions in driving packaging artwork development with consistent instructions for requirements (design and technical, best practice and regulatory) to achieve project timelines and improved quality of deliverables ensuring that they are fit for purpose .
  • Early evaluation of potential issues (technical, regulatory, etc.) to eliminate show stoppers or late stage problems.
Experience:
  • University degree in Packaging Design, Business or Marketing
  • Proven experience in Packaging Design with knowledge of regulatory standards and industry best practice. Proven Global Project Management skills are a plus.
  • Ability to act in an intercultural, complex and rapidly changing business environment.
  • Demonstrated effective team member and Co-ordinator/facilitator skills across project teams and/or departments.
  • Language Skills:
    • Essential: Fluent in English (written and spoken).
    • Preferred: Fluent in German (written and spoken).
    • Beneficial: Knowledge of any other language.
