On behalf of our client, a leading bank in Lausanne, we are looking for a Data Engineer with extensive experience in writing sophisticated SQL queries. Are you a passionate Data Engineer who is looking for a new and exciting challenge?

Main responsibilities:
- Focusing on building and driving new and state of the art technologies in various fields
- Data Engineer in a dynamic, international and demanding environment using the latest innovations in Big Data
- Work closely with Data Owners, Business and Big Data Project team to clarify requirements
- Responsible for data discovery and understanding in source systems, capturing meta data, mapping data elements to business data requirements and do data profiling
- Prepare technical connectivity specifications for the development team and implementation of data quality checks
- Serve as data subject matter expert during user acceptance testing and in discussions with IT stakeholders
- You will be part of an open-minded team with a strong team spirit that acts in a versatile, dynamic, and flexible working environment
- Open to discuss flexible/agile working
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of strong technology background in Databases and or Data warehouses with good understanding of tables, views, indexes, normal forms
- Extensive experience in writing sophisticated SQL queries including cross database joins is a strong plus
- Experience of big data HDFS, and dealing with massive data sets is a strong plus
- ETL knowledge is a strong plus
- Solid previous knowledge or familiarity with Unix environment
- Knowledge of Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence is a big plus
- Strong data analytical skills in tools like Excel
- Your high-level of confidentiality, integrity and responsibility enable you to deal with critical and confidential data
- As demonstrated standout colleague, self-starter, and independent thinker you are willing to cooperate in a highly collaborative environment and to contribute to the team's success
- You are willing to assume additional responsibilities and to become a respected know-how carrier
- Strong communication and presentation skills with fluency in English
- A Bachelor or Master degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
