(Zurich, 6 months with extension up to end of 2020)

First Job Description:

Are you familiar with regulatory reporting?

Do you have the know-how for analysing global holdings?

The Group Shareholder Reporting Programme (GSP) team is looking for someone like that to help us:

  • discharge global obligations for reporting of aggregated shareholdings in accordance with regulatory and legal requirements in each relevant jurisdictions and across all Business Divisions
  • place and monitor trading restrictions and provide trade approvals to business when questions of regulatory ownership limits arise
  • maintain good relationships with Regulators, Exchanges, other areas within the bank and colleagues based in other jurisdictions

You'll be a member of the EMEA team of Shareholder Reporting Compliance and Operational Risk Control located in Opfikon, Zurich. We are responsible for analysing global equity holdings in issuers regulated in the EMEA region, monitoring holdings in sensitive industries and where appropriate, reporting holdings to the relevant regulators. This role includes juggling a variety of demands in conducting monitoring processes to ensure compliance of with its reporting obligations. Additional tasks include improving internal controls and developing and updating the team's core processes.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor Degree (university of applied sciences), ideally in Law, Economics or Business Administration
  • knowledge of financial products and trade life cycles (prior Banking, Asset or Fund Management experience is an advantage)
  • a keen interest in working on compliance topics; experience in working with legal judgements and interpretations would be nice to have
  • strong MS Excel skills
  • fluency in English; fluency in German or any other European languages are an advantage
  • willing to perform work to a constantly high level of accuracy
  • a great communicator that can handle challenging situations
  • enquiring in nature with a propensity to question facts and data, and a tenacious attitude towards problem solving
  • an excellent team player, ambitious and with a structured approach to working

We are looking for someone like that who can help to improve data quality within our regulatory reporting systems and at the same time support management with running management committees, establishing and maintaining governance documents, etc.

We're looking for someone that can:

  • compare and validate data quality within the Regulatory Reporting System by cross-referencing different sources (eg business applications, reference data providers) and liaising with different parties (eg traders, portfolio managers, risk specialists, etc.)
  • interpret data and analyze results
  • perform repetitive work to a constantly high level of accuracy
  • suggest enhancements to reporting tools and processes
  • assist with system testing and project management
  • prepare and distribute management updates independently
  • create/maintain central governance documents like Operational Risk Control Framework, Regulatory Reporting Policy, etc.

Your team:

You will be working for the Central Team of the Group Shareholder Reporting Program (GSP) that is responsible for discharging our firm's global obligations for reporting its global aggregated shareholdings in accordance with regulatory and legal requirements in all relevant jurisdictions and across all Business Divisions.
Requirements:

You need to have completed your bachelor's degree and/or studying for a master's degree ideally in Economics or Business Administration.

In particular, you have:

  • strong interest in working in the Data Management area
  • willing to perform administrative work and support management team
  • good knowledge of Financial Markets, Banking industry and products (prior Banking experience is an advantage)
  • willingness to perform work to constantly high level of accuracy
  • attention to details and the ability to analyse and process large amounts of data
  • excellent interpersonal skills (and this noticeable even when under pressure)
  • good command of MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint
  • fluent English skills, fluent German skills would be an advantage as well as any additional language skills
