HIV Project Manager

Are you a highly qualified Project Manager with expertise in HIV programs at national, regional and facility level and are you looking for an exciting new opportunity within an NGO ? If so, please have a look at the following details:

Experis IT Switzerland is currently on the search for a HIV Project Manager to join one of their clients, an NGO, based in Geneva.

Your role & responsibilities:

You will support the Senior Disease Coordinator HIV and HIV team in strategic guidance on HIV prevention, collaborating across the Secretariat and with external partners.
You will also support the Senior Disease Coordinator HIV and HIV team in mainstreaming program quality and efficiency throughout the grant cycle by focusing on the prevention and treatment care pathways (cascades) and improving the specificity and effectiveness of investments and interventions toward greater impact.

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) :-

  • Informed by normative guidance from technical partners and by program performance results, provide advice on strategic investments for programming of new funding to achieve maximum impact and optimal alignment of the Clients financed-programs with the 2 strategic objectives.
  • Lead in the conduction of specific detailed analyses related to HIV prevention, with a special focus on adolescent girls and young women, along the grant life cycle, in collaboration with internal staff, to identify investment gaps and opportunities for reprogramming and reshaping of existing HIV grants towards greater impact.
  • Work closely with Health Systems Strengthening, Community Systems Strengthening, Human Rights, Key Population and Gender Advisors to ensure optimal investments and response specifically within the area of HIV prevention, with a particular focus on adolescent girls and young women.
  • In addition to general technical advice on prevention, the Consultant shall be responsible for the specific support of 3-4 high priority countries in East and Southern Africa where the need to bend the trajectory of new infections within the next few years is paramount. Working within the team, with Fund portfolio managers, regional managers and technical partners the Consultant shall be responsible for the support across the grant life cycle including country dialogue, concept note development and review, implementation.

To deliver the required results, it's essential that you have:

  • Medical degree or specialized post-graduate qualification in public health or social sciences related to HIV.
  • Strong public health knowledge and at least 6 years relevant experience at international level in the area of health systems strategies, quality and project management, including program design and implementation, research and policy development
  • Experience in working with national programs in developing countries;
  • An understanding of the international health arena and direct exposure to health environments both at national and international levels;
  • Implementation experience of HIV and/or relevant Health programs at national, regional and facility level with experience and knowledge of comprehensive HIV prevention and treatment services
  • Fluent in both English and French
