Financial Migration Analyst
The Migration team is responsible for ensuring that the historic financial views of one previous year are migrated correctly from the source to the new target landscape across legal entities and across valuations (USGAAP, EVM, local/stat).
Task description:
Work to develop migration concepts and specifications
- Work with Finance Subject Matter Experts to agree the scope of migration and reconciliation activities (frequency and prioritization of attributes/granularity)
- Work with SMEs to understand the source of migrated data and mappings from source to target by legal entity and valuation
- Help to develop a consistent process and structure/template for uploading manual migration data. Train and assist SMEs on this process.
- Be the liaison between Finance SMEs and Migration IT team ensuring requirements are appropriately communicated and subsequently implemented correctly
Applying Finance Business Knowledge to migration/reconciliation activities (eg):
- Prepare reconciliations by legal entity on a USGAAP, EVM and local/stat valuation
- Review output of legal entity reconciliations with the SMEs
- Investigate exceptions and help to either correct the exceptions or document acceptable differences.
- Ensure legal entities are signed off in order to meet project milestones/deadlines
Skills
- Studies in Finance and/or Accounting
- CPA or other accounting certification is an advantage
- Understanding of accounting principles covering several of the following: EVM, US GAAP, Statutory and Local Accounting
- Enjoy number crunching and getting into details, without losing the big picture (considering the E2E process view)
- Enjoy learning about technical aspects/new system/good intuition for new systems
- Excellent analytical skills
- Good understanding of the Finance and Finance IT environment
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks in a fast moving project environment
- Ability to convey ideas and findings with Finance and IT colleagues
- Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word)
- Basic SQL knowledge (Oracle & DB2)
