Four our client in Fribourg we are looking for a GL Accountant FSC for a 12 months contract.

Location: Fribourg

Job Purpose

Provide accounting and closing skills to ensure accurate accounts and timely reporting.
Ensure high quality of financial data and compliance to Group and company's reporting standards as well as statutory requirements.
Business partner with designated Local Business Units to ensure business objectives are met through provision of accurate, timely and relevant financial information.
Major Accountabilities:
Accounting & Reporting:

  • Preparation of monthly financial closings according to IFRS and local legal requirements including financial reporting in the reporting software FCRS.
  • Ensure the creation and maintenance of adequate accounting records to meet local legal requirements and required standards.
  • Local chart of accounts and cost center set up/maintenance in ERP systems SAP/JDE in collaboration with the affiliate and the GA Supervisor in the FSC.
  • Adoption of new accounting standards and new requirements according to the company's Accounting Manual.
  • Coordination with company's stakeholders to ensure accurate financial data (Local Finance organization, company's Consolidation and Reporting team, Group treasury, Supply Chain, etc.).
  • Full balance sheet accounts reconciliations and balance sheet reviews with local and divisional stakeholders as well as ensure timely clean-up of overdue items.
  • Deal with tax advisors and tax authorities to handle tax requirements.
  • Ensure specific/complex accounting matters are well addressed and solved on time.

Compliance and Internal Control:

  • Maintain a "strong and no exception" control environment.
  • Assist with specific tax, compliance and audit reporting processes for the legal entity, providing necessary data to internal and external authorities, and acting as a FSC point of contact for stakeholders for questions about reporting and/or compliance processes or results.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's Financial Control Manual and SOX 404 through maintenance of relevant FRA internal controls, reconciliations, documentation management (Standard Operating Procedures).

Change Management/Projects:

  • Support finance related process changes to achieve best practice by proactively identifying gaps to standards, initiating and formulating change projects with IT and Finance management.
  • Support accounting and reporting projects to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Point of reference and expert in the area of FRA for initiatives and projects led by other departments or sites.
  • Cooperation with other business units in driving X-BUs efficiencies and standardization.

Ideal Candidate

Education: Certified specialist for Finance and Accounting or similar degree
Languages: Fluent in English (and local language), both written and spoken
Experience:

  • 2-3 years' experience in Financial reporting and accounting department
    Knowledge and practice of IFRS.
    Knowledge of local tax (Income tax/VAT)
    Good communication skills

Competency/Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of SAP/JDE (AS 400)
  • Good MS Excel skills
