NextLink is a Swiss IT consultancy company that has been providing both IT services and IT staffing to major customers for the past 20 years.NextLink is currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to work for a well-known pharma company based in Basel, Switzerland.
Background:
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with technical background and experience with databases. The project is to renew a contract for the current Security System, compare and assess functionalities with new demand, lead the consolidation of different databases, upgrade the system and implement new functionalities as agreed. The project is to start early 2018 and is planned to complete within 1 year. In addition, the PM might be asking to coordinate smaller projects pending on the workload.

- Remote/Home Office: Possible 1 day per week, prior approval needed.
- Travelling: Not required
Tasks & Responsibilities:
The PM is responsible for the delivery of the project. This includes:
- Understanding the current contract
- Understanding the need of Basel Site Security and possibly other stakeholders
- Contract negotiations together with Purchasing
- Creating an implementation plan with the supplier
- Creating and managing a project charter, schedule, resource and budget plan
- Understanding implementation proposals from the supplier and engaging right stakeholders
- Working together with the business (Site Security, Engineering and others), SME of the team and other IT resources
- Running regular Steering Committees
- Delivering project according to plan
Must Haves:
- +8 years of PM experience (ideally: projects related to applications & data services; PM experience with databases; PM experience with security systems)
- Fluent German (very important as we are looking for a German speaking PM)
- Technical background / know-how to understand business needs
- Good English skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to analyze and assess the business need and assess using IT solution architecture principles
- Ability to challenge requirements, identifying standard vs. custom solutions
- Excellent documentation skills
- Experience as Coordinator Lead in a matrix organization
- Ability to define short, clear instructions for non-IT individuals
- Ability to drive outcome
- Great communication skills and self-driven personality
- Accountable, structured and proactive
Nice to Haves:
- Work experience at Pharma industry
- PMI certification
