Our client, one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies based in Basel, is looking for a Junior Data Analysis Expertwho has strong experience in analysing big data sets and with data visualization.
This is a contracting role based in Basel and planned to start from July until the end of the year with extension opportunities.

Project background:
The program's objective is to develop digital biomarkers and the main focus areas are:
- Design digital biomarkers:
Define ways to capture clinical outcomes using sensor data collected from smartphones and wearables - Develop apps and data processing pipeline:
Establish processes, software, and infrastructure to handle big data collected from sensors in clinical trials - Deploy digital biomarkers to clinical studies:
Generate data to validate approaches and support decision making - Analyse and interpret sensor data:
Identify signals for disease severity and progression in sensor data collected from patients in trials
Tasks & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be analysing large amounts sensor data collected from smartphones and other wearables in clinical trials to discover digital biomarkers required to assess drug efficacy.
Ideal Profile:
- University degree in mathematics, statistics, natural science or informatics
- 3+ years of experience with analysing big data sets, data visualization (former engineering experience as well as technical know-how shown in the last projects)
- Good experience with software development and big data infrastructures
- Experience with analysing biomechanical and sensor data desirable
- Profound knowledge in Python, R, Matlab or similar software packages/languages
- Knowledge of MS Office
- Working experience in a pharmaceutical industry, ideally with clinical studies will be a big asset
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Self-starting team player
- Fluent in English and German will be a big advantage
