Main Purpose of Job:

The Business Analyst acts as an intermediary between the business community and the technical community. He works with IS/IT services and business partners to collect, clarify and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual design, from which applications and solutions are developed.

The Business Analyst is an active thought partner and solution visionary who shapes the technology demand among the business community, thus adding value to the Business.

This includes: stakeholder management, analysis of business requirements, project management, solutions delivery and solutions portfolio management.

Main Responsibilities

Stakeholder Management:

  • Partner with Stakeholders in order to 1) understand Business strategy/priorities and 2) anticipate future evolutions

  • Review IS/IT services delivery with Stakeholders; whenever appropriate, establish corrective action plans and follow them up

  • Manage escalations

Analysis and Implementation of Business Requirements:

  • Collect, analyze and make sure HR business requirements are implemented according to agreed priorities and applying GLOBE standard change management procedures

  • Provide added-value assistance to HR Partners (stakeholders/subject matter experts/super users/key users) through direct contacts and/or through the resolution of (complex) incidents and requests

  • Continously seek for enhancement opportunities with the aim to add value to Business

  • Provide insight to HR Partners and ensure compliance to IS/IT security standards

  • Liaise and collaborate with other IS/IT teams, incl. solution architects and/or senior project managers and/or external solution&service providers, demonstrating a 'One Team' spirit

  • Coordinate training of HR Partners (subject matter experts/super users/key users); coordinate testing with HR Stakeholders (subject matter experts/super users/key users)

Solutions Delivery:

  • Lead the selection of new solutions, internally or externally, aligned with GLOBE strategy and standards

  • Analyses, documents and tests program development, logic, process flows and specifications

  • Partners with business partners to conduct user acceptance testing

  • Documents user manuals to describe application installation and operating procedures

  • Coordinates project and resources, in accordance with the Swiss LGO project management methodology, to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget

Key Skills

    • Strong willingness to reach the objectives
    • Team spirit, proactive collaboration, comfortable dealing with others (project manager, super users, IS/IT peers, business stakeholders)
    • Able to work in independently
    • Able to understand business functionality (HR in this case) and translate it into application requirements
    • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question thought partners across functional areas
    • Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise in work products
    • Strong understanding of basic system engineering, object-oriented design, information risk and security guidelines, and architecture standards

Knowledge/Experience

    • Min. 3-year experience in IS/IT
    • Experience in HR processes analysis
    • Confirmed project management skills
    • Experience with the GLOBE HR Template and Support Organization as well as Travel Management (Concur) are strong plus
    • Exposure to Matrix organizations
    • Demonstrated experience writing software requirements and test specifications
    • French + English. German is a plus
    • Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, ...)
