For our client Roche in Schlieren Kanton Zürich we are looking for a Research Associate in Histology (f/m/d)
Background:
Roche Innovation Center Zurich (Schlieren-Zurich), a 100 % affiliate of Roche Pharmaceuticals, is active in the research, development and commercialization of new potent antibody-based products for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune disease. We offer a stimulating and truly international environment. To further strengthen our organization, we are looking for 2 research associates in Histology.
In this position you will join a highly motivated team devoted to cancer research. The team specializes in histology support to the preclinical in vivo experiments aimed to test the efficacy of clinical drug candidates.
Ideal candidate:
We are looking for a candidate with previous experience in histology, working in labs and handling mouse. This person should be experienced with both lab work and analysis. To integrate into the team, English is required.
Tasks & Responsibilities
* Handling of automated tissue processor and paraffin auto embedder
* Frequent paraffin block preparation and sectioning
* Frozen cryostat sectioning
* Basic histology staining
* Immuno-histochemistry techniques: fluorescent and chemical dual labelling procedures
* Standard microscopy, confocal and scanner microscopy both Olympus and Ventana platform
* Good knowledge of tissue quantification software like Definiens, Halo and VisioPharm.
* Presentation of results to the team
Must Haves:
* Education in Life Sciences (Bs, Ms or Apprenticeship with experience)
* Proven experience working in lab, preferably Histology
* Experience in mouse-handling and mice studies
* English speaker
Nice to have:
Laboratory experience in the following areas:
* Microtome sectioning
* Cryo-sectioning
* Standard and immuno-staining techniques
* Microscopy Scanner
* Graph-Pad Prism software
