Overview of contract

On behalf of our client, a leading financial services institution in Zürich, we are looking for a Compliance Officer who will be a strategic partner to the EMEA team by providing high-quality compliance advice across the primary insurance chain.

This is a 9-month contract based in Zurich

Main responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Support the development of compliant products and propositions in close partnership with business functions
  • Develop and ensure appropriate implementation of a robust Compliance Programme for the EMEA business taking business model specific requirements into account
  • Supporting Group Compliance in the carrying out of Compliance assurance activities in respect of the EMEA business
  • Supporting Legal and Compliance key initiatives and advancing specific priorities relevant to the business
  • Supporting the internal governance processes to ensure that compliance risks are appropriately flagged and escalated
  • Supporting relevant reporting to regulatory/competent authorities as appropriate
  • Identification/monitoring of all Compliance Risks, in particular data protection and conduct risks in order to undertake ongoing risk assessments
  • Propose changes/enhancements to control standards, mitigation strategies, policies and processes,
  • Assess possible impact of any changes in the EU/local legal and regulatory environment
  • Providing end to end compliance support relating to both the on-boarding of new partners and the management of existing partners

Your skills:

  • Compliance professional with 3+ years experience in the life and non-life insurance market in Germany/Switzerland, other EMEA regions a plus
  • Previous experience of regulatory issues in respect of data protection
  • Ability to prioritise and work in a highly dynamic and changing insuretech environment
  • Fluent in English and German, other languages a plus
