About the role
As a Compliance Officer, you will have a unique and great opportunity to be a trusted, strategic partner to the EMEA team by providing timely, practical and high-quality compliance advice across the entire primary insurance value chain.
Responsibilities
- to support the development and run of compliant products and propositions in close interaction with business functions
- to develop and ensure appropriate implementation of a robust Compliance Programme for the EMEA business taking business model specific requirements into account, including maintenance of Compliance Risk frameworks in coordination with Group Compliance and carrying out compliance training activities
- supporting Group Compliance in the carrying out of Compliance assurance activities in respect of the EMEA business
- supporting Division Legal and Compliance key initiatives and advancing specific priorities relevant to the EMEA business
- supporting the internal governance processes to ensure that compliance risks are appropriately flagged and escalated
- support in providing relevant reporting to regulatory/competent authorities as appropriate
- identification/monitoring of all Compliance Risks, in particular data protection and conduct risks in order to undertake ongoing risk assessments
- propose changes/enhancements to control standards, mitigation strategies, policies and processes,
- assess possible impact of any changes in the EU/local legal and regulatory environment
- engaging and collaborating with other expert functions including Legal and Risk Management to ensure the provision of consistent advice
- providing end to end compliance support relating to both the on-boarding of new partners and the management of existing partners
About you
- Compliance professional with 3+ years experience in the primary life and non-life insurance market in Germany/Switzerland, other EMEA jurisdictions a plus
- Previous experience of regulatory issues in respect of data protection and conduct risk highly preferred
- Ability to prioritise and work in a highly dynamic and changing insuretech environment
- Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Ability to provide pragmatic guidance on compliance risk
- Ability to take initiative and take accountability with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Fluent in English and German, other languages a plus
