For our client based in Basel, Michael Bailey Associates is currently looking to hire a Data Warehouse Developer for a 6 months assignment with the possibility of further extension.Background:
The customer is currently undertaking a fundamental overhaul of our trading, messaging, and risk management systems, taking advantage of the latest technologies in banking. You'll be key to this transformation Programme.
This is a role that straddles both BAU support for the existing DW, which is based on Sybase IQ and business analysis and development required to help with the migration of the current banking DW banking warehouse to a Datalake architecture using Spark and Hive. We are looking for a motivated individual with strong analytical and development skills who can adapt fast to a changing environment.
The Data Warehouse team has 2 members, and it is part of the Data Integration in Banking IT unit (7 members). The main scope of the team is to offer daily support to the warehouse solutions. The new resource will work on the Innovation Program, more specific on the decommissioning solution using new technologies.
The team works following Agile / Scrum methodology.
This would be more like an operational type of job working on the data warehouse solution and supporting with the troubleshooting.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership over the full lifecycle of application development and integration
- Analyze business requirements, extract technological needs from users' requirements and translate them into workable product backlog items
- Manage projects and coordinate activities with internal/external teams and stakeholders
Must-haves:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with the following technologies: Java and SQL. (*****)
- 3+ years of experience with Business process modelling/implementation using Java and SQL. (*****)
- Strong experience with troubleshooting (*****)
- 3+ years of experience managing data warehouse modelling concepts (ETL) (*****)
- Experience in DevSecOps and agile processes
