Big Data Engineer (m, f, d) - Zürich - 100%
Role:
For our client - one of the largest private banks in Switzerland - we are looking for a Big Data Engineer. As an integral part of the team you will be responsible for Data Platform project sources, cleanses and delivering the data for different business use cases as single source of truth.
Areas of responsibility:
- Develop and maintain data framework that makes the data accessible and ready for analytics
- Involved in Design and Implementation of data architecture relevant topics across the common part of the data platform
- Maintain and model JSON based schemas and metadata to re-use it across the organization (with central tools)
- Translate business requirements into data and engineering specifications
- Develop data pipelines for Data Scientists (incl. MLOps)
Professional and technical requirements:
- Expert SQL skills, preferably in mixed environments (ie classic DWH and distributed)
- Working automation and troubleshooting experience in Python using Jupyter Notebooks or common IDEs
- Hands-on Big Data experience using common open source components (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Presto, NiFi, MinIO, Docker, Kafka)
- Data preparation for reporting/analytics and visualization tools (eg Tableau, Power BI or Python based)
- 5-10 years general experience with Data Architecture/Data Engineering
- Relevant Data Engineering certification required- preferably from renowned platform providers - AWS/Google Cloud Platform/MS Azure/Cloudera/Databricks
- Experience in banking or financial business
- Solid Agile experience in Data related projects
- On-prem Big Data solutions
- Experience in large data migration projects
- Able to communicate with Senior Management level with Great Stakeholders Management
