Project / Role:
For our Pharma client in Basel we are looking for a highly motivated and qualified Digital Biomarker Biomedical Engineer (m/w/d).

Digital tools, such as smartphones or wearables, can now continually measure and collect vital health information - or "Digital Biomarkers". Digital Biomarkers are changing how future medicines will be developed and could lead to more personalized use of new medications that will transform the lives of patients. Advances in wearable devices, such as phones, watches, textiles or delivery devices, which track a patient's vital signs and monitor for symptoms, all have the potential to vastly accelerate clinical development.
Tasks & Responsibilities:

- Responsible for managing all the day to day operational activities of the SLM team

- Facilitate SLM team meetings, and producing reports and meeting minutes that will be communicated to the other EpiCX teams

- Responsible for managing expectations with all the sub-teams within the SLM umbrella.

- Working closely with the SLM lead in managing finances and other resourcing related activities within the SLM area

- Work closely with the SLM lead and other program leads to 'connect the dots'

- Support JIRA management within the program - help the team responsible for performing health checks on tools used in the program

- Facilitate the flow of information within the SLM team to drive ownership and empowerment

- Facilitate scrum events and ceremonies, coach the team on value and purpose of these events

- Facilitate retrospectives, identify areas for improvement and turn it into action items

- Help the squads to self-organize, coach on scrum values: Courage, Focus, Commitment, Respect, Openness

- Exhibit the servant leadership behavior towards the SLM teams and the wider organization

- Own the Risk Management for SLM and manage expectations with all impacted stakeholders
Must Have:
- Very good university degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics, natural science or informatics

- 3+ years of experience with analyzing biomedical data (preferred: accelerometer, optional: gyroscope, magnetometer, PPG data for heart rate and heart rate variability, ECG/EEG) collected preferably in neurological or musculoskeletal diseases

- Hands on experience with basic statistics, time series analysis and signal processing methodologies (time and frequency domain -FFT, Wavelets-, system identification - AR, ARMA models)

- Profound knowledge in Python, R or similar software packages/languages

- Basic understanding of data analysis and machine learning concepts (traintest sets, crossvalidation, etc.)

- Hands on experience in Project Management / Project Support

- Strong experience with analyzing and visualizing large data sets

- Track record of writing compelling publications in high impact, peer reviewed journals

- Self-starting team player with strong and collaborative "can-do" attitude

- Excellent analytical, communication and writing skills in English

Nice to Haves:
- Experience in leading data analysis teams and device analysis strategies

- Experience with software development processes and version tools (Git, Jira, etc.)

- Experience with deep learning and other machine learning techniques

- Experiences with hardware and sensor technology

- Previous hands-on clinical experience with neuromuscular atrophies/dystrophies is also interesting

- Experience in experimental/clinical study design
