Financial Accountant urgently required for our London based Central Government client on a 3 month initial contract + possible extensions.You will be responsible for;
- Production of Statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with IFRS and other reporting and regulatory requirements.
- Act as the point of contact for our external auditors on any technical accounting matters and year end audit.
- Plan and organise the audit including production of timetable and instructions, communication of responsibilities and ensuring appropriate resources are in place.
- Manage reporting requirements including: consolidation packs for interim year end reporting, and draw down and repayments of loan amounts.
- Develop and update Accounting policies in the light of the development of the business.
- Lead operational finances month end process.
- Implementation of internal and external audit recommendation.
Skills/ Experience required;
- A fully qualified experience accountant (e.g. ICAEW, ACCA etc.)
- Strong technical proficiency in IFRS and Conceptual Framework- in particular in relation to Financial Instruments and revenue recognition.
- Ability to explain technical accounting concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Experience of auditing or producing full IFRS year-end accounts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience of analysing data from and ERP system.
- Understanding of public sector reporting would be an advantage.
