Beschreibung

Category Manager urgently required for our London based Central Government client on a 3 month initial contract + extensions.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain an in depth knowledge of the categories acting as a source of expert insight and advice. Deliver added value by having a deep understanding of software channel and suppliers drivers. Provide analysis of Government Procurement and Public Sector spend
  • Lead creation and execution of designated category/sub-category strategies. Be involved in the development of market knowledge and apply this to create a deep understanding of customer requirements in area of responsibility
  • Meet or exceed target of centrally managed spend through leveraged agreements
  • Identify and implement savings, optimisation and demand management opportunities. Assist in the mitigation of price increases impact. Identify and implement aggregation and other cost improvement initiatives. Develop and agree Benefits Methodologies for all cost improvement projects. Deliver, report and evidence all category savings. Work with suppliers, customers and colleagues to find innovative ways to deliver savings.
  • Make a significant contribution to the continuous improvement of the category team's performance to customers (service, savings and spend)
  • Lead development and delivery of sourcing strategy in key areas, including creation of future commercial solution structure and scope, specification/statement of requirements, key performance indicators and pricing models
  • Build relationships of influence with senior customers. Leverage relationships to build support for and drive compliance to category strategy and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
  • Develop relationships with Senior Government Policy owners to ensure CCS strategies are aligned to government policy
  • Liaise with CCS Account Team leads, Crown Representatives and other relevant CCS personnel to ensure "one CCS voice". Set targets for contract management in conjunction with Procurement Operations
  • Lead market engagement activities to ensure supplier input into category strategy and sourcing strategy and own and drive SRM within specific category area
  • Manage and coordinate initiatives to develop the category at a sub-category level, coaching and guiding more junior team members
  • Act as a source of expert market knowledge, insight and advice to customers (internal and external)
  • Contribute to the development of category-specific best practice.


Essential Criteria:

* Ideally MCIPS qualified and educated to degree level, with expertise in the field of people services category management and procurement, ideally within a complex organization.

* Evidence of developing and managing effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels in a complex and strategic commercial environment, through effective communication, gravitas and personal impact.

* Experience of using and analyzing data, developing, building and managing complex pricing and evaluation models and being innovative and solution oriented in finding new ways of overcoming problems to deliver positive outcomes and solutions

* Experience of leading and managing teams, projects and virtual teams to deliver outstanding results and build organizational capability.
