Senior Network Engineer (Contracting)
Job Description
- 40% 1st/2nd Level Support Calls
- First Line escalations from Service Desk
- IP Address, Switchport and VLAN assignments
- Troubleshooting of performance, connectivity and wireless connectivity
- 30% Advanced Troubleshooting
- Performance monitoring
- Continuous service improvement
- 30% Projects
- Daily support for Cisco network (15 buildings globally)
- Some afterhours and weekend support
- Some travelling domestic and international
Requirements
- Minimum 5 - 8 years relevant network experience in fast paced environment
- Outstanding expert knowledge in
- configuring and supporting F5 LTM and GTM
- TCPDUMP and Network Sniffers
- Solid experience in routing and switching in a global enterprise environment
- Hands on experience with Checkpoint Firewall/UTM
- Ability to professionally support and troubleshoot routing protocols
- OSPF, EIGRP, BGP
- Experience in supporting Cisco ASA, QoS, VoIP, VRF, VRRP, HSRP, STP
- In-depth knowledge of IPS Technologies - Tipping Point
- Pluses would be:
- Cisco Wireless
- Cisco Nexus
- Juniper SSL VPN
- RSA ACE
- Cisco Works
- Cisco ACS Servers
- Riverbed
- SolarWinds and SNMP
- Motivated and proactive personality
- Must be team oriented (junior staff, sharing knowledge, documentation)
- Very strong communications skills
- Excellent customer-facing and presentation skills
- Experience building metrics and reporting - trending
Contract Details
- Start: ASAP
- Contract duration: 6 months
- Location Basel
- Hourly Rate CHF all incl.
